| About | Charlie Ballauf graduated with the first Hueneme High class of 1961. He was killed by hostile rocket fire while serving in the Navy as a hospitalman aboard a US Navy Gun Boat in South Vietnam. He is on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, Pane 23E, Line 25. He is buried at the Barrancas Nation Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. RIP Charlie. |

I met Chuck at the Tournament Bowl. We were bowling buddies. He was the sweetest, kindest person.
I too was shocked to learn of his passing and that he was so young.
Still keep in my heart.

Our family loved Charlie. We used to live on Saviers Rd. in Oxnard many, many years ago and Charlie would come by regularly and we would just talk about everything. He was just this really nice, enjoyable guy and I think he enjoyed those talks. I was so sad when I learned that he had died but my husband and I went to see him listed on the wall in DC. I really enjoyed his friendship and all the laughs.
