About Glen (Kap) Lee Kapitanovich passed away on October 14, 2025. Glen was born in Vancouver on May 9, 1946, to Amy and George Kapitanovich. Glen graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School in 1965 and went through the machine shop program at Clark College. He started work at Columbia Machine soon after high school graduation.

He married Sylvia (Wilson) in 1966. Glen completed the journeyman machinist apprenticeship program in August of 1971. After working at Columbia Machine, he started his own machine shop in 1985. Over the years, he made parts for customers that could no longer be purchased, and also built specialty items and did welding.

Glen was an inspired man working diligently through his life building and creating things for his home and family. He enjoyed a challenge in his machining. He built a sled boat, china cabinet, grandfather clock, as well as other unique things throughout his active life.

In his earlier years, he went Chucker hunting in Eastern Washington with his German shorthaired pointers and friends, as well as two fishing trips to Alaska with daughter Michelle. Later in life, he restored his ”hot rod,” a 1953 Ford to completion that was originally his parents’ car.

He loved life and his family, made a lot of friends through his work, enjoyed his neighbors and was always up for adventure. Glen was a devoted husband and father; his family always came first. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia; his daughter, Michelle Kapitanovich (Paul); and brother, Don (Toni); and nieces and nephews.
