Sheila Ann Westby O'Malley (12/30/1949 - 12/23/2016)
Sheila Westby O'Malley passed from this life on December 23, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. Sheila was the sixth of eight children born to Herbert and Angela Westby in Vancouver, Washington.
She graduated from Hudson’s Bay in 1968 and from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. There she met Tim O'Malley, her husband of 37 years.
Throughout her early career in banking, imports, sales, and marketing, Sheila's true passions - her love of music and her affinity for peace and justice - continued to flourish. Ultimately she turned to these as her life's work, leading parish music ministries in Idaho and Oregon, and finally devoting the most recent years of her life to the Ignatian Volunteer Corps in San Diego, California, as a board member, spiritual reflector, and agency volunteer at Catholic Charities' The Tomorrow Project.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Tim, and their two sons, Dan and Mike, and Mike's fiancée, Lauren South, as well as by her sister Barbara Paull and brothers Harold Westby, Gordon Westby (Patty), Paul Westby (Rosemary), and Michael Westby (Patti). She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Angela Westby, and sister Colette Westby and brother William Westby.
