About SURF CITY, N.C. — Charles “Chuck” E. Carmichael Jr., 61, died peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at his home.

Chuck was born Aug. 24, 1963, in Youngstown, to Sharlene and Charles Carmichael Sr.

Chuck enjoyed his recent career at local hardware stores helping his customers with their home improvement projects.

Throughout the years, Chuck enjoyed the beaches; he spent his adult life living close to the Atlantic Ocean from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Charleston, South Carolina, and retired recently to Surf City, North Carolina. Chuck liked to travel, play golf and entertain in his home. He also had a great love of all sports, especially football.

He graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, where he was captain of the football team.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Casciano Carmichael; his sisters, Dawn (Tedd) Lee, Kimberly (Colin) Murray and Amy (Andrew) Bertalacci; and several nieces and nephews.
