About SHAWNEE, Okla. — Hope Ann Zoba Alford, 57, departed this life for the rest and comfort of the next on Tuesday, May, 5, 2020, surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 17, 1963, in Youngstown.

She attended Howland High School, and prior to her illness, she was employed as a personal care assistant. Hope went through this world living life on her own terms, making the most of every hurdle she approached and winning the war of addiction that haunted her early adult years.

Her memory lives on with her mother, Shirlee Klutch Zoba; her biological mother, Cindy Roman (James) Propst of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Heather (Mark) DeMalio of Howland; stepbrothers, David Propst, Michael Propst and Keith Propst, all of Overland Park, Kan.; sons, Charles Anderson of Shawnee, Okla., Paul (Stacie) Kaldy of Austintown and David Anderson of Maryland; daughter, Amanda West of Shawnee, Okla.; grandchildren, Justin Dickinson, Xavier Anderson, Brenden Anderson, Kaitlyn Kaldy, Cassidy Kaldy, Brandon Kaldy, Bianca Gancarz, Alina Gancarz, David Anderson Jr., Miranda Berry, KayDee Berry, Kavannah Berry, RaeLee Berry, Harper Berry, Stella Berry and Carter Berry; and her nieces, Isabella DeMalio and Mia DeMalio.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Zoba; and her husband, Rick Alford.

A private ceremony was held on a beautiful sunny day as Hope smiled down on her close family, Friday, June 12, 2020, at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
