| About | Linda Ann Watkins (Lynn), of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on 18 September 2025 at the age of 77. She was born on 26 October 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland. From an early age, Lynn had a deep passion for horses and riding—a love that remained with her throughout her life. She spent her years between Maryland, Florida, and most recently San Antonio, Texas, carrying with her warmth, faith, and devotion to family wherever she went. Lynn graduated from Howard High School in 1965. She worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for both the Howard County Police Department and the Boca Raton Police Department, and also held administrative roles in mortgage lending and titles, hospital administration, and as a nurse staffing coordinator. Faith was central to Lynn’s life. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, a passionate fan of youth sports, and a loyal supporter of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. Lynn was also a proud “Blue Star Mom” and loved serving those who serve our country. One of her greatest joys was tending bar at her son’s local VFW Post 8111, where she became beloved by the veterans and military members she supported. Lynn truly embodied the spirit of a selfless servant—a “good neighbor” who placed others’ needs above her own. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reflected His love to family, friends, and everyone she met. She found joy in sewing, ceramics, painting, quilting, and crossword puzzles, and she loved sharing the highs and lows of her Orioles and Ravens. Above all, she cherished her family and taught the true meaning of unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Teresa Garland; her husband, Thomas Watkins; and her brother, Jack Garland Jr. She is survived by her son, David Poist Jr. and his wife Yolanda; her grandchildren Jasmine, Courtney, Kayla, John, and Kirra; and her siblings Donna Miller, Terry Green, and Larry Garland. |
