| About | Susie Sweet Souder, 82, of Savage, Maryland, passed away on August 20, 2024 after a gradual decline in health. Susie was born in her family home on October 24, 1941. She graduated from Laurel High School (Maryland) and received an Associates Degree from Frederick Community College in Fredrick Maryland. Susie’s special activity was crocheting, as well as teaching it to others. Susie’s favorite place to eat was “Crabby Bills”. She loved the beach and was loved by her family and friends. Susie was preceded in death by grandson, Andrew; and her eight siblings, four brothers and four sisters: Beverly (sister), Lewis (brother), Evelyn (sister, Elva (sister), Ethel (sister), Stanley (brother), George (brother), and Buttsey (brother). She is survived by four children, Gwendolin Blair Slade (Joseph), Gregory Withers, Gretchen Kemp (Raymond), and Grayson Withers; grandkids, Matthew (Erica), Brittany (Tony), Peter (Samantha), Zachery, Meagan (Jason), Stephen, Logan, and Morgan; and 10 great-grandkids, Joseph, Edward, William, Conner, Jasper, Corbin, Dalton, Olivia, Serenity, Magnolia. |
| Events | A celebration of Susie’s life, with a period of visitation an hour prior, will be held 3 pm Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road. Interment will be private. Susie is now at peace and leaves her loved ones to cherish her memories. |
