About	ary Carolyn Shrop Ramsburg, "MC", a 50-year resident of Riva, MD, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2016. She was 73 years old. MC was born on September 12, 1942, in Cumberland, MD to the late Theodore and Mary Katherine(Smith) Shrop. She graduated from Ellicott City High School and went on to graduate from James Madison University in 1964, with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and statistics. MC worked 10 years with NASA during the space shuttle program's infancy. She would go on to work at the NSA another 20 years, traveling to many countries and working on a variety of classified projects. MC loved to read and used that passion as an outlet to volunteer at her local library. Partners in Care and animal rescue agencies were also important to MC. She loved listening to Jazz music, and spending time with her grandchildren exploring the world, one day trip at a time. MC was preceded in death by her former husband, Edward Ramsburg; her son, Peter Ramsburg; and her beloved Maltese, Jack. She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Michael)Cantrell of Arnold; her sister, Nancy Yingling of Hopatcona, NJ; and three grandchildren, Garrett Michael Cantrell Hall, Taylor Cantrell and Michael Cantrell, Jr. all of Arnold.
Events	Friends called on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 11am until a funeral service begins at 1pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment was held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11am at St. John Cemetery, 3480 St. John's Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
