| About | John Gardner July 16, 1942 – March 9, 2015 Cupertino/Los Altos John Otis Gardner John was born and grew up in the countryside of Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Lehigh University and received a PhD in medicinal chemistry from the University of Buffalo. After four years of post-doctoral work at Buffalo Medical Foundation, Columbia University, and Syntex, he worked at Syntex in Palo Alto for 24 years. He enjoyed photography, gardening and was an accomplished “Mr. Fix-it.” For many years he did home repairs for senior citizens through the Los Altos Senior Center. He met his wife Penny in his college years. Together they enjoyed their second home at Sea Ranch and exploring the world from the Arctic to the Antarctic. He is survived by his wife and her family, his brother Bernie (Beverly) and a nephew Alan (Nora) and family. His family and friends will miss his wonderful smile and unique sense of humor. |
