Carol Jean (Estep) Griffith, 64, of Valley Terrace, Moorefield, WV, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Stonerise of Keyser while under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Born on November 15, 1957 in Oak Hill, WV, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Ray Estep, Sr. and Ella Jane (Minks) Estep. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Griffith in 2001 and by a sister, Ruth Ann (Estep) Delfosse.
Mrs. Griffith was a 1977 graduate of Howard High School in Howard County, MD and then attended Howard Community College. Afterwards, she did secretarial work and worked in various thrift stores. Never able to have children of her own, she decided to become a day care provider for the West Virginia Department of Health until her health started to decline. In 2015, she went into a nursing home, due to becoming blind from cataracts, COPD and heart disease. While in the nursing home, she enjoyed drawing and coloring pictures to send to family and friends. She also enjoyed singing karaoke and always had a smile on her face. She was a baptized member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation and participated in the Sunday services via Zoom.
Surviving are her two sisters, Beverly J. (Estep) Shocky of Moorefield and Patricia (Estep) Hatfield of Purgitsville, WV; a brother, Leonard Ray Estep, Jr. of Maryland and many other relatives.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
