Jean's story is one of humble beginnings, growing up on a farm in Ellicott City, MD, tending to corn and tomatoes that would later grace the shelves of local grocery stores. Her early years were filled with the joys and challenges of farm life, shaping her into the hardworking, resilient woman she later became. With the establishment of Harbin Farms produce stand, Jean, alongside her brother Robert, took on the responsibility of quality control and daily operations. Her commitment and passion shone through every ear of corn and every tomato that passed through their hands. She was not just selling produce; she was sharing the fruits of her labor with her beloved community. Family was the heart of Jean's life. She married and raised a family with her husband, Lawrence T Rest. As a mother to Kimberly Taylor (husband Michael Taylor), Michael Rest, and Karen Valentine, she showered her children with love and instilled in them the values of hard work and compassion. Her love extended to her grandchildren - Joe, Brian, Katlyn, Madison, Lucia, Josie (husband Casey Killmer), Grace, and Isaac - who brought her immense joy and pride. Jean's bond with her brother Robert L Harbin Jr and sister Sylvia Wiles was unshakeable, and she held a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. Jean's interests were simple yet fulfilling. She found joy in the kitchen, her hands creating dishes that were loved and shared by all. She embraced the vibrant and spiritual world of coloring in her later years. Time spent with her family was her greatest treasure, and she enjoyed the companionship and activities at the local senior center. Jean was a woman of passion and gentleness. Her passion was evident in every aspect of her life, from her work on the farm to the love she had for her family. Her gentle nature was a comforting presence, a soft touch in a hard world. She was a beacon of light, her warm and caring spirit touching everyone she met. Jean's life was a journey filled with love, hard work, and dedication.
