About | Mr. Wade was born on April 5, 1939, in Knoxville, TN son of the late Michael Amos Wade, Sr. and Mary Stout Wade. While born in Tennessee, Mike grew up in Baltimore, Maryland then migrated back to Knoxville where met his wife, Judi. They married in 1958 and in a while his boys began gracing the world. He moved to Rome in 1968. Mr. Wade’s career centered on and associated with the wholesale business. He was affiliated with H&H Wholesale; owned D&M Wholesale in Bowdon, GA and Tallapoosa, GA, Fox Supply in Rome, GA; and finally settled in Southern Pipe Supply for over 18 years. Mike was a former member of West Rome Baptist Church and had served as Deacon, Mentor and Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years. He is a current member of Fellowship Baptist Church and serving as Sr. Adult Sunday School teacher when needed. Mr. Wade is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judi Holt Wade of Rome; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Andrew Wade of Rome, Phillip Brian & Keli Wade of Ocala, FL, Daniel Hugh & Beth Wade of Rome; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikia & Freddy Amerson of Cartersville; eight grandchildren, Brian and wife, Katie, Maridith and husband, Bobby of North Uganda, Africa, Mallory, Barrick, Micah Elizabeth, Braxton, Miles and Selena; one Great-grandchild, Anniston; one brother, William Wade of Indiana; four sisters, Patricia Henard of TX, Sarah Keller, MD, Gwen Scaldaferri of MD and Charlene Kramer of N.C. |
Events | Funeral Services for Mr. Wade was held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Wade, Rev. Phil Wade and Rev. Dale Levan officiating. Interment followed in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gary Graves officiating. The family received friends on Thursday between the hours of 12 Noon and 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Building Fund of Fellowship Baptist Church or the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering in honor of Bobby and Maridith Lane, 314 Burnett Ferry Road, Rome, GA, 30165. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Danny Wade, Phil Wade, Brian Wade, Mike Wade, Johnny Mills, Freddy Amerson, Andy Wade, Barrick Wade and Braxton Wade.
