Shirley Marie Ridgely, age 81, of Glenelg, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Birch Manor Health Care Center, Sykesville.
Born September 9, 1939, in Brookeville, MD she was the daughter of the late James Brown and Bertie Selby Brown. She was the wife of Donald Lee Ridgely.
Shirley had worked in several positions over the years. Years ago she worked at the former Parker's Drive In, then for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics and later as a school bus driver in Howard County. Shirley was a life member of the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons: Donald Lee Ridgely, Jr. and Kenneth Martin Ridgely; sister Alice Martin of FL and Linda O'Donnell of Taneytown. She is also survived by grandchildren Chris, Bryan and Benjamin and great-grandchildren: Connor, Isaac and Madison.
She was predeceased by siblings Robert Brown, James Brown and Dorothy Lucille Frank.

The family received friends from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service followed at 1pm. Interment was in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
