About Charles Roger Blaney, age 76. of New Windsor, formerly of Eldersburg passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 3, 1939, in Clarksville, MD he was the son of the late J. Jerome Blaney and Rose C. Feaga Blaney. He was the husband of Sharon Conner Blaney, his loving wife of 51 years.
Charles was a retired Firefighter from the Baltimore County Fire Department, serving 28 years; retiring as a Lieutenant. He had served out of the Randallstown Station for most of his career. He had served in the Maryland National Guard for 8 years and was a longtime member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael C. and April Blaney of New Windsor; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and George T. Koenig, Jr. of New Windsor; sisters, Barbara Thompson of Ellicott City and Charlotte Cottrell of Clarksville; grandchildren, Robert, Alex and Amanda Blaney and Spencer Koenig and mother-in-law; Helen M. Conner of Catonsville.
Charles was predeceased by his brother, J. Jerome Blaney, Jr.
Events The family received friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service was held on Thursday at 10am at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Road, Eldersburg. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
