About Eugene Rocco DeCrisci II 1974-2017 On Wednesday, January 18, 2017, Eugene "Gene" Rocco DeCrisci II, age 42, shook off all earthly restraints and received his final reward from his God and King. After an incredibly brief but intense battle with cancer, Gene is victorious because he now walks alongside his Savior. Gene lived a lifetime in his 42 years. He was born to Eugene and Johanna (Prester) DeCrisci on June 9, 1974. As the youngest of their five children, he learned the importance of family and the value of strong character. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, he chose to serve his country by joining the United States Army. During his 21 years of service, he sought to be nothing less than a consummate professional in every job that he held. He served alongside his brothers in arms and among the very best during his years assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Later in his career, he followed his childhood dream to fly. He became one of the finest Army Aviators, specializing in the UH-60 Blackhawk. Among all of his achievements, his two finest are his children, whom he adored. Gene was so impressed by life. He lived each day to the fullest and enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, and was a phenomenal cook. Gene is survived by his wife, Beth, and his two children, Gabrielle and Joseph, of Fredericksburg, VA; his parents, Eugene and Johanna DeCrisci of Ellicott City, MD; his siblings and their spouses, Gina and Brian Farmer of Sterling, VA, Vincent and Dana DeCrisci of Pasadena, MD, and Dana and Robert Murdock of Bedford, NH; along with twenty nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Rocco Stephen DeCrisci.
Events Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to share in a celebration of Gene's life on Monday morning, January 23, 2017 at 11 a.m., located at Spotswood Baptist Church, 4009 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA. There will be a time of visitation with the family for the two hours prior, starting at 9 a.m. Those wishing to express an act of kindness may make a donation in Gene's memory to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center-Warrior Family Cell, The Fisher House Foundation, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the physicians and staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Without their care and expertise, our journey would not have been nearly as palatable. A special thank you to our hospice care team from Capital Caring. You have helped us in immeasurable ways.
