About Margaret Mary Broadwater of Finksburg, MD passed away on July 6, 2024, at Northwest Hospital Hospice Unit surrounded by the love of her family.
Born October 12, 1937, in Clarksville, Maryland, she was the daughter of Arlie Broadwater and Margie Chambers Broadwater. She attended St. Louis School to 8th grade and graduated from Howard High. She was employed as Office Manager for St. Louis Church for 33 years. Upon retirement she moved to Hancock, MD and after several years relocated to Martinsburg, WV where she attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was active in the senior center and home Bible Study. In 2018, as her health declined, Margaret returned to Maryland to reside with her daughter, Margie, in Carroll County where she became a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Westminster, Md.
Margaret loved life and her resilience and determination while living with COPD was simply amazing. She had a keen sense of humor and never allowed her illness to interfere with visiting family and friends. She was truly an inspiration and will always be remembered for her love, laughter, and generosity.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents Arlie and Margie Broadwater and her sister Helen Dunn.
Margaret is survived by her children; Nancy Gerwig (Mike Gerwig) and Margie Renehan, her grandchildren; Mary Beth Bridge (Alisa Kardos), Kara Mackey (Kevin Davis), Theresa Bridge, Tami Myers (Matthew Hill) and Shelby Renehan (Howard Smith) and her 9 great grandchildren; Johann Avarca, Tyler and Isabelle Jackson, Kalen and Konner Mackey, Jacob Davis, Lydia Wallace, Thomas Hill and Holden Smith.
Events A Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., Clarksville, MD. A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church, Clarksville, MD. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridging Life Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. Through their compassionate dedication, they provided the gifts of grace and dignity until her passing moment as she made her transition into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
