She died on 27 April 2021, in White Hall, Baltimore, Maryland, United States, at the age of 85, and was buried in Vernon Cemetery, White Hall, Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Virginia Mae Cummings (Brown), Age 85 passed away peacefully April 27, 2021 due to complications to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS). She was born February 9, 1936 in Bristol , VA to Homer & Mattie Brown. She was one of twelve children raised in Rising Sun, MD. She was a business graduate of Rising Sun High School. Virginia married John W. Cummings Sr. and had five children raising them in Whitehall, MD. Virginia had been an administrative secretary for AAI cooperation in Cockeysville , MD for many years. She was a believer and attended Shrewsbury Gospel Temple where she was saved and loved by her church family. Her family brought her much joy, especially her great grandchildren. She was a lover of reading, cleaning, shopping, recipes, gospel music, french fries , family gatherings and most of all God. She is survived by two sisters Betty & Ruth, as well as, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by John W. Cummmings Jr. (son) & wife Carol of White Hall, MD, Donna L Staines (daughter) & husband Donald of New Park, PA , Joseph E. Cummings of Shrewsbury PA and daughter in laws Kathy Cummings of Parkton MD and Cinthia Bartkowski of Stewartstown, PA. Her six grandchildren Danielle, Christiana, Johnny, Jeffrey, Shannon & Jay and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Cummings Sr., son Jeffrey R. Cummings, son James A. Cummings and grandson Donald MM Staines. |
Events | Services were held Sunday May 2, 2021 with a viewing from 12pm-1pm and service started at 1pm at Shrewsbury Gospel Temple, Glen Rock, PA. Interment will be at Vernon Cemetery, Whitehall, MD. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her church in memory of: Shrewsbury Gospel Temple Ministries , PO Box 193, Shrewsbury PA. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. handled her arrangements. |
