| About | Betty Lou Young Spivey, 85, of Village Mills, died Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1939, in Bronson to Opal McClelland and Monroe Smith. Survivors include her children, Sherrell Young and Betty Ann Burkett and her husband, David, all of Wildwood; grandchildren, Ashton Burkett and his wife, Jodi, of Beaumont and Blake Burkett and his wife, Callie, of Warren; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Burkett and Isla Burkett; sisters, Darlene Jones and her husband, Chuck; Janice Roy and her husband, Travis; and Vickey Alford and her husband, Mike, all of Kirbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Young; and son, Floyd ToDarra Young. |
| Events | A gathering of Mrs. Spivey's family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m. with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Olive Branch Hospice staff for the years of care they provided. |
