Durward “Butch” Lichliter, 85, passed away February 18, 2024. He and his wife, Bernadine “Curci” Lichliter, shared a love that continued to grow through their 63 years of marriage.
Born in Ellicott City, Maryland, he was the son of Ruth and Steve Lichliter. He graduated from Howard High School and maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates. He was a master electrician for IBEW Local Union 26.
Butch was an avid Orioles fan, talented woodworker and liked golfing and fishing. Among the things that he most enjoyed was traveling, monthly breakfasts with former classmates, lunches with the Retired Members Club (RMC), lunches with his men’s club, and his membership at the Kent Island Elks Club.
We will always remember Butch’s humility, quiet sense of humor, silly nicknames, teasing little ones, and his willingness to lend a helping hand in the neighborhood. Above all, Butch will best be known for love of his family.
Butch was proud of his four loving daughters, Susan Williams (Jeff), Sandra Glaveskas (Kevin), Sharon Collignon, and Shelly Greer (Jim Cox). His seven grandchildren, Tony, Kristi, Randy, Taylor, Steven, Sydney, and Sam extended his legacy by adding their spouses and children to his joyous family.
