About	December 15, 1940 - April 13, 2021 Joan B. Bowman, age 80, of Kearneysville, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Born December 15, 1940, in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late John Bozzell and Peachie Arbogast Bozzell. Joan married George Walter Bowman on November 24, 1962. He passed away in 2004. In addition to being a homemaker and mother most of her life she also worked as a secretary at USDA Research Center, Beltsville, MD, in the Howard County Public School System and VA Regional Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV. She grew up being involved in 4-H and remained active in her adult years as a 4-H leader of West Friendship 4-H Club and the Poplar 4-H Club and was a Howard County and MD 4-H All Star. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Patricia J. and Mark Carroll and sons and daughters-in-law George W. and Melissa Bowman, David W. and Heidi Bowman, Charles W. and Deborah Bowman and Michael W. Bowman. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her siblings Virgie, Hilda, John and Walter.
Events	The family received friends on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm and on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 10 to 11 am at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service was held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 11 am. Interment followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Howard County 4-H All Stars Program, Marjie Eyler 18 Grimes Court, Mt.
