About	Daniel Jefferson Seal, known affectionately as Dan to his friends and family, passed away on December 19, 2023, in Columbia, MD, due to heart failure. Born on May 19, 1962, in West Friendship, MD, he was a beacon of strength and kindness in the lives of all who knew him. Dan's early years in West Friendship laid the foundation for a life characterized by love and dedication. He carried the values of his hometown throughout his life, extending warmth and generosity to everyone around him. He pursued his passion for history at Washington & Lee University, where he not only deepened his knowledge but also forged lifelong friendships. Professionally, Dan dedicated many years as a Senior Project Manager at Harkins Builders, where his leadership skills and meticulous attention to detail were greatly valued. His involvement with Leadership Howard County exemplified his commitment to community development and his belief in the power of collective effort for the common good. Dan's love for sports was unmatched, particularly when it came to coaching basketball and playing lacrosse and football. His dedication led to receiving all-county awards in both sports during his tenure at Glenelg High School and created the opportunity to play at the collegiate level at Washington and Lee University. He is survived by his adoring wife, Mary Virginia Murphy, and their two cherished daughters, Sarah Teahan Seal and Anna Bradeon Seal. His father, Luther Harold Seal, will remember Dan as a son who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Dan was predeceased by his mother, Rose Thompson Seal, and his brother and sister, Tommy Wayne Seal and Sherri Lynn Seal, whose memories he held close to his heart. Dan's sisters, Debbie Saunders and her husband Patrick, Diana Liebno and her husband Andy, and Denise Stillings and her husband Chuck, will miss his gentle presence and loving guidance. His many nieces and nephews have lost a fun-loving uncle who always had time for their stories and games. Those who knew Dan will remember him as a loving husband, a courageous father, and a gentle friend. His ability to face life's challenges with grace and his unwavering support for those he loved are qualities that will live on in the memories of his family and friends. Dan's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and an unrelenting zest for life. His spirit, characterized by these attributes, will continue to inspire and influence those who were fortunate enough to have known him. As the sun sets on a life well-lived, we bid farewell to Daniel Jefferson Seal, a man whose life's journey was marked by an abundance of love, courage, and gentleness. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many and will be profoundly missed.
