About | Janet, aged 68, a 46-year resident of Gambrills, rejoined her Heavenly Father after a lengthy illness. Janet was born and raised on the family dairy farm in West Friendship, MD. During her youth she was active in the 4-H Club program and never lost focus on the purpose of that program-"To Make the Best Better." She graduated in 1959 from Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD. She was a stay-at-home MOM devoting her homemaking skills to raising her family. Her passions were singing in the Choir at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church, participating in Bible Study classes, creating needle crafts, baking, food processing, and flower gardening. For nearly 60 years she loved to enter home-canned foods in county fairs. She was co-owner of Parsons Meat Market in Crofton and Parsons Tax Service. For many years, Janet and her husband produced registered Hampshire hogs near Easton, MD. She proudly related the story that she became engaged to marry in the farm's hog truck. She also numbered all her husband's "stories" to help simplify her life. |
Events | Services were arranged by Donaldson Funeral Home and held at the Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church, Odenton, MD, under the ministry of Rev. Kenneth Humpert. Her long-time friends, Bill and Ann Anderson, provided the musical tribute. Janet was laid to rest in her family's cemetery at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church, Poplar Springs, MD.
