| About | “Jim” was in Laurel, Maryland. He was a 1965 honors graduate of Howard High School in Ellicott City. Jim received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Towson State College and his Master's Degree in College Personnel Counseling from Shippensburg State College, Pennsylvania. Having taught math for 25 years at Atholton High School, after the terrorist attacks of 9-11 on America, Jim became one of the initial TSA officers for the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. He served at Baltimore/Washington International Airport for 5 years and then transferred to Fort Lauderdale International Airport in Florida. Jim delighted in the South Florida weather with no need to shovel snow! After working another 10 years, he retired in 2013. Jim enjoyed traveling to see the band KANSAS in concert, as “Dust in the Wind” was a favorite of his. A lifelong fan of the American artist, Edward Hopper, Jim was able to make a special visit to the painter’s studio in New York City. And recently, he had enjoyed trips to the Great Pacific Northwest, Paris, and San Francisco. Everyone who ever met Jim liked him, and he will be very sadly missed. But as Jim would say if able, “I’m all right now!” |
