About Dennis, 67, passed at Talbot Hospice House in Easton.
Born in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Hilda Beall Ferguson and the late Dennis Dexter Ferguson. Dennis grew up in Ellicott City.
A graduate of Howard High School class of 1967, Dennis honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and then attended the University of Maryland, graduating from the University of Maryland Pharmaceutical School in 1979. On March 31, 1979, he married the former Peggy Rivers, and they made their home in Easton.
Dennis was a soft-spoken and gentle person. He encouraged curiosity and intrigue about the wonders of the world. He loved traveling, painting in watercolors and oils at the Talbot Senior Center, and exploring the great outdoors, especially the gardens that he and his wife worked tirelessly, day and night to make this world a more beautiful place. He was very involved in educating the community about early detection and the prevention of health issues. He was a volunteer at the Talbot County Health Department for prostate cancer and skin cancer screenings and at St. Vincent de Paul's food pantry and children's department. He was also a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church congregation in Easton.
Dennis worked for Easton Memorial Hospital for 10 years, and had a long and enjoyable career working at Hill's Pharmacy as a registered pharmacist.
Events A visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon with a funeral liturgy at noon at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1210 S. Washington St., Easton. Burial will be held at a later date.
