About | Edward, age 82, of Keymar, died Friday, at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center, Westminster. Born in Clarksville, MD., he graduated Howard High School in 1954 and then dairy farmed with his parents. He and his wife started farming in Columbia, Howard County, then moved to Unionville for 2 years and finally settled on their home farm "Gaywinds Farm" in Keymar in 1963. He was very talented with building and remodeled their old farm house. He continued farming until 2002. He also owned and operated Gaywinds Trailer and Equipment Sales for more than 40 years. Ed was a member and past president of the Frederick County Holstein Association; member of MD Holstein Association, MD Jersey Cattle Club, Frederick County Equipment Dealers, and Johnsville United Methodist Church. He was a 4-H leader for more than 25 years, a 4-H All Star and he enjoyed restoring antique tractors, traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with his family. |
Events | Hartzler Funeral Home - Libertytown Location - Frederick 11802 Liberty Road Frederick, Maryland A funeral service will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home-Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, with Rev. Paul Leatherman, pastor of Edgewood and Sams Creek Church of the Brethren and Pastor Brian Remsch of New Beginning Nazarene Church, Mt. Airy, officiating. Interment will follow in Linganore Cemetery, Unionville. Pallbearers will be Andy and Adam Covell, Chris and Shane Beachy, Brandon, Dusty and Wyatt Kahler and Collin Hooper. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, November 7. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J.
