About	Carole L. Byers, 66, of McSherrystown, passed away on Tuesday, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Jeffrey L. Byers to whom he shared 30 plus years together. Born in Baltimore, MD., Carole was retired from the County of Adams Correctional Facility, Gettysburg as a records manager. She was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School, MD. Carole was a member of SAVES, previously McSherrystown Fire Co., and served as an EMS Lieutenant, and also served as a member of the McSherrystown Borough Council. Carole enjoyed spending time watching her grandson race and granddaughter cheer. She loved animals and will be greatly missed by her two canine companions, Ducky and Ziva.
