About | After moving around the East Coast a few times in his early years, Patrick settled back in Maryland. Pat was a graduate of Howard High School in 1975 after excelling on their Championship football team dubbed the "Dream Team". The Howard High Lions won 47 straight games beginning in 1971, an impressive record that held for 26 years. Pat leaves behind 3 daughters, Katie Fitzpatrick, Lisa Breathnach and Erin Cavanaugh, their husbands and significant other, Anthony Holloway, Liam Breathnach and Cliff Boan. Pat was also the proud grandfather of 5 amazing children, Gracyn 10, Ian 10, Evan 6, Tommy 3 and Connor 1. Pat was a great lover of the outdoors, sports and history. Pat enjoyed traveling the country to visit as many State Parks as he could. He also loved camping, boating and fishing. Pat was a Green Bay Packers fan, loved international soccer, golf and was a big fan of the Olympics. Pat was a frequent presence on the sidelines of his daughter's high school and college sporting events, rarely sitting down and vocal about his support. History was something Pat enjoyed reading about, watching documentaries and visiting historical sites. While Pat was a fun and engaging father, he came into his best role in 2010 as a self-dubbed Skipper. Always being the First Mate on his brother Kevin's boat, Pat declared his would be the Skipper of his grandchildren. Skipper spent the last 10 years dedicated to this very important job. Skipper was there to teach a new skill, request a helper for chores, read many many many books, trips to swim in the Bay, playgrounds and picnics, pick ups and drop offs for school, popsicle stick jokes, watching sports on TV (Go Terps!) and attending his grandchildren's sports and activities. His three oldest grandchildren were blessed to have Skipper live with them for the last 3 years and upon entering or exiting the house, he was the one to go to for a hug and a joke. In light of current events, we will celebrate Pat's life in this format with love, stories, memories and prayers. |
