About	Joyce, 78 of Artemas, PA, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, from glioblastoma multi-form brain cancer. She was born at home in Ilchester, Maryland. She was a 1962 graduate of Howard High School located in Ellicott City, MD. Joyce was a teacher's assistant at Winfield Elementary School in Carroll County, MD, retiring from there with 30 1/2 years of dedicated service. Joyce also worked alongside her husband in their lawn care business. She was a Cub Scouts Den Mother for many years. She was also a member of Re Temple 118 Daughters of the Nile. Joyce and Rick enjoyed disco and ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed outdoor activities such as; working in her flower gardens, taking walks in the woods and at the beach, camping and Sudoku puzzles. Joyce was also proficient at painting and drawing. A treasured memory for Joyce was a camping journey she and Rick took across country to Alaska; she described it as a "trip of a lifetime". Most of all, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family.
Events	The family received friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 7 pm at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs, WV. A funeral service was held at the funeral home beginning at 7 pm following visitation.
