Karen graduated from Howard High School in 1973 and began the majority of her working career as a proofreader/editor for various contractors supporting the NASA Scientific and Technical Information Facility in College Park, MD and then at the BWI Airport, Linthicum, Md, until she retired on disability. Karen always loved animals, starting with her first cat, Penny, her first horse, Scout, and then her beloved dog, Charley. Her home always had a few cats, which she frequently rescued. She enjoyed traveling, including time on cruise ships. Karen's favorite vacation was when she spent several weeks in Hawaii. She also liked driving sports cars; her TR4, TR6, and then her very favorite Corvette. She loved music and regularly attended popular concerts.
