Terry graduated from Howard High School, Class of 1975. He was an outstanding baseball player, who mastered the knuckleball pitching, as well as being a skilled hitter. He went on to Miami Dade Community College where he was extended an offer to try out for the Yankees. Obstacles arose and he was unable to attend it.
Terry is the older brother of Joe Brooks (class of 1983) whom preceded Terry in death. (1979)
