| About Me | I went to Seattle Pacific University, Pacific Lutheran University, and The Art Institute of Seattle where I received my degreen in Fashion Marketing. I interned at Club Monaco while I was in school and in February of 1999, two months before graduation, I started working for a shoe company in Bellevue called Report Footwear. There, I was the Marketing coordinator which consisted of planning for our tradeshow booths, working with teen magazine editors to supply product for photo shoots and give them credit information. I was also in charge of hiring and keeping models on staff for the shoe shows. I was able to travel to Las Vegas and New York for the shoe shows and from there I became friends with some of the fashion editors. I received a call from Alva at Teen People in the beginning of October 1999 and she told me that she knew someone in NY looking for someone who does the same thing that I was doing at the time and asked if I was interested. Of course I was! So they flew me out for an interview and within two weeks of being offered the position, I picked up and moved to NYC. The job was as an account executive at a PR firm and my clients were The Female Athlete and Steve Madden. I only stayed at the job for 3 months because my boss was crazy. From there, I started working for a small lingerie company called Donna L'oren/Jumpshot Sportswear where I was the executive assistant to the President/Office Manager/Production Manager. I was only there 11 months but I wore a lot of different hats. Very interesting to say the least but in less than a year, I realized that it was not where I wanted to be. After that, I got a job at Calvin Klein Jeans as a Production Coordinator for women's and juniors t-shirts. I liked that job and stayed for three years but then the company was doing some re-organization and my position was going to change so I got a Production Specialist job at Ellen Tracy/Liz Claiborne. THAT WAS THE WORST JOB EVER AND I WAS ONLY THERE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. Now I'm working at the Coach corporate office as a Sample Manager and I LOVE IT! I've been here for 3 1/2 years and hopefully will be here for many years to come. In between all of that, I married my husband in June of 2005 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My son Terryn was born in August of 200...(read more) |
