About Me	Preached at many area churches as a student in the Knoxville area and on a trip home, met Leslie Biddle, who would be the love of my life. Continued to preach at a small church in Humboldt every other weekend and then, we were blessed with our first child. I was working at Young Radiator in Mattoon for my full-time job and stayed there from 1964 until 1969, when I got on with GE and we were transferred to Florida. After that, we were transferred to Benton, IL in 1972 and I cont'd to work locally, then in 1974, I took a chance with a good friend who wanted to start a trucking company and drove a truck until 1992, when I had a heart attack and could no longer pass a DOT physical. In 1995, we relocated to Branson, MO (now live in Hollister-just adjacent to Branson) and I drove a charter bus for 7 years and retired. Hated retirement - LOL; went to work for WalMart for 7 years, retired again. Didn't like retirement any better. Went to work at a "fun" job - 4 hrs/day - at the Baldknobbers Theatre in Branson and loved it! Stayed for 4 seasons and then we were hit with a terrible tornado in Feb 2012 and Branson suffered significant damage. I helped where I could but they didn't "rehire" anyone but family after such financial devastation and by then, I decided I really liked retirement. Until last year, I also have been Santa Claus in some way shape or form every year, but last year, our oldest grandson's college graduation trumped everything! LOL I had 47 1/2 wonderful years married to my wife, Leslie, who quite unexpectedly passed away in her sleep in the wee hours of the morning of Feb 6, 2013. We had two beautiful children together - Lori Ann (Pedigo) Canorro, who turned 46 just 8 days after her sweet mother turned 66. Lori is married to the world's best son-in-law, Jim Canorro, who is a senior process engineer and inventor in the specialty coating division of a large paper mill in Pennsylvania. We have had the joy of one beautiful grandson, Colby, who graduated from Penn State in December, 2012. What a joy it was, and a memory we will all treasure forever to watch our daughter watch her "baby" and our eldest grandson walk across that stage to get his degree and to graduate with high honors and distinction! The next day, Lori, Jim & "the old folks" (both sets of grandparents) enjoyed watching great kids that were friends of Colby's, friends of Lori & Jim, other family members, co-workers, etc. come & go from 11a.m. that morning until late in the night for a celebratory open house for Colby's graduation! We stayed to celebrate Christmas with them and to ring in 2013; avoided the holiday travel and flew home on January 3, 2013. That would be the last time Lori saw her sweet Mom & very best friend alive. They talked every day and she has been my rock through this. I'm literally learning how to put one foot in front of the other every day and she's not just an RN, but a Manager, too, and I tease her often about bossing Dad around, but she's taking excellent care of me and "gently reminds" me of things her Mom did routinely! LOL She & her husband bought a new house in the fall that is HUGE but with the intention of Colby having his own "digs" until he gets on his feet; then a beautifully finished basement space >1200 sq ft for company and eventually Mom and/or Dad. Their door is always open to me, whenever I decide to go and that's a considerate, loving Daddy's girl! All that talk about her...Geez! We've also got a son, Mark Aaron, who is 41, is married to Amber (Grauch) Pedigo and they live in Carmel, IN. Mark is a long distance truck driver and Amber works in the office of a different trucking company. In addition, they have 3 beautiful children - Zachary, age 8 (will be 9 in Sept), our only granddaughter (who ADORES her Aunt Lori & Pa), Jayden, age 4 and then a "surprise blessing," another grandson, Easton Lawrence, who just turned 3. They ALL adore Aunt Lori - Zach with his sweet spirit and old soul - likes "hangin' out with cousin Colby now that he's older," Pretty little Princess Jayden, which is how Aunt Lori addresses her every time she talks to her and she LOVES to call and talk to Pa (ME!:) and then Easton is Aunt Lori's partner-in-crime....BIG brown eyes, BIG dimples like his Aunt Lori but with hair the color of Cheetos...ORANGE it's so red! She calls him CheetoHead; he loves it; and then begs for kisses. Leslie & I have sure been blessed but as hard as Leslie's unexpected & sudden death that they have attributed to "natural causes" (don't know what's natural about dying in your sleep @ 66!) has hit us, it's us boys....Me, of course...I lost my best friend & the love of my life; our little dog, Missy & I go everywhere together; our son, Mark and grandsons Colby & Zach were crushed. I know Lori's heart is broken, too, but she is the glue that holds us all together, even on days when I know she doesn't feel like it. Our faith and family and friends have been the best through these recent months for sure & catching up with old friends ...(read more)
