Marilynn Barner

Class of 1978

Marilynn Barner’s (Class of 1978) life took an irrevocable turn when her only child, Ricci Anselmi, was killed in September, 2007. Her attempts at overcoming the numbing grief led her unexpectedly to play writing. Since then, her work has been produced in New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Nashville, TN, Detroit and in North Carolina. The Detroit Repertory Theatre will host the world premier of her play, Taking Care of Mimi, on May 28-June 24th.
