Joined army in 1967 Basic in Ft Polk LA. - Flight School in Ft Wolters TX, Ft Rucker AL and Hunter Stewart GA in1968, - Vietnam in 1969 flew Cobra and Huey helicopters, - back to Ft Rucker AL as an instructor 1970-1971, a number of assignments up to 1998 the transitioned into the Blackhawk in 1998. Last flight was in 2001. Did make a short trip to Iraq in 2003. My middle daughter was an MP in Iraq and her husband was In Korea at the DMZ at the same time while my Barbara Ellington was at home caring for our two youngest and our middle daughters two oldest children

Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, commonly known as Weapons, has been stationed at Tyndall AFB FL from 1992-1996, Osan ABS Korea from 1996-1997, Misawa ABS Japan from 1997-2001, and is currently staioned at Langley AFB VA 2001-present. Has been to Saudi Arabia three times, and served during the beginning of the Iraqi Freedom War from Feb 2003-Jul 2003. Currently a TSgt, serving as section floor chief in Armament Flight

Served in Illinois National Guard, U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard with over 35 years military service. Retired as Master Chief in 1996.

Sergeant (E-5). Served 1972 - 1976. Compled boot camp at MCRD in San Diego, CA; Infantry training at Camp Pendleton, CA; Military Police training at Fort Gordon, GA (Marines and Army MPs trained together at that time). I was a military policeman and was stationed on U.S. Naval Base in Sasebo, Japan three years and returned to the U.S. and finished my service at Camp Le Jeune, NC. Among awards are: Meritorious Promotion to Lance Corporal; Meritorious Mast by USMC Commanding General, Fleet Marine Forces, Pacific; Letter of Commendation by Base Commanding Admiral, US Fleet Activities, Sasebo, Japan

21-year career began at MCRD San Diego with retirement as a MSgt (Chief Instructor) from the Navy-Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center (NMITC) Dam Neck VA. My first honor was selection to carry the Marine Corps Colors for the Color Guard when the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the S. Korea Commandant of the Marine Corps visited MCRD. Was also a member of the Honor Platoon when President Ronald Reagan visited NSA Ft. Meade MD to dedicate a new building. Received the Association of Old Crows (AOC) award for Intelligence Analyst of the year (1991).
Travel included Germany (3 times), Philippines & Japan (twice), Norway (cold weather training), Bahrain (Desert Shield/Desert Storm). Top awards: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2).
