About VERNON BAKER III

Mr. Vernon Baker III, 53, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was born July 9, 1955, son of the late Vernon Baker Jr. and Maurine Gipson Baker. He was a 1973 graduate of Hillsboro High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1973 until 1985. He worked in communications in Alaska and Germany. He was currently employed at Mrs. Baird’s Bread (Bimbo Bakery) in Fort Worth. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon Baker Sr. and Ethel Baker and James and Letha Gipson. Leaving to mourn his death are: his wife, Karen Baker; three sons, Marcus Baker and Nicholas Baker, both of Hillsboro and Christopher Baker of Milford;

mother-in-law, Gladys Bell; one stepson, Dominick Bell of Itasca; six sisters, his twin, Versie Johnson, Carolyn Vaughn, Brenda Wilson and Norma Baker, all of Hillsboro, Cynthia Baker of Carrollton and Margie Baker of Cedar Hill; four brothers, Steve Baker of Chicago, Illinois, Tony Baker of Temple and Larry Baker and Norman Baker, both of Hillsboro; five nieces, Kimberly Wilson of Arlington, Krystal Wilson and Jazmyn Baker, both of Hillsboro, Breanna Baker of Temple and Latrecia Campbell of Grand Prairie; and five nephews, Samuel Wilson Jr. of San Antonio and Chase Baker, Jonathan Johnson, Jaron Baker and Creighton Baker, all of Hillsboro. Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Believers Christian Cathedral in Hillsboro. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery.
