Columbus, Ohio native promoted to Marine Corps gunnery sergeant
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. � Columbus, Ohio native and Hilliard Davidson High School graduate, Nicholas D. Weatherman was promoted to the rank of Marine Corps gunnery sergeant during a ceremony with fellow Marines aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia, today.
Gunnery Sergeant Weatherman, who entered active military service in December 1998 is currently serving as the radio and communications chief, Coordination, Liaison and Assessment Team, Marine Corps Forces Pacific Command, located within Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group (MCTAG) in Virginia Beach, Va. MCTAG provides conventional training and advisor teams to work alongside partner Nations' security forces.
Before checking into MCTAG, Weatherman served as the platoon sergeant and radio chief with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in Camp Lejeune, NC from January 2010 until August 2010 and prior to that he served as a radio chief with Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC. From 2004 � 2005, Weatherman deployed with the 22nd MEU to the Central Command area of operation in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Gunnery Sergeant Weatherman is married to Kelly Weatherman of Cincinnati, Ohio.
His parents Dave and Joss Weatherman still reside in Columbus, Ohio.
