About	Don was born and raised in Springfield and died at Cox Hospital in January 2015, a month before his 72 birthday. He was a member of the HHS "Cinderella" football team that won State Championship in 1960. He was a Marine and later owned a home construction business, then became a general contractor, working on projects at myriad locations around the United States while still based at home in Springfield. For the past three years, he was leader of the '61 Reunion Committee and enjoyed seeing friends and making new ones at each of the reunions. Hosting annual HHS '61 athletes cookouts was another of his favorite activities. Don was an avid reader, enjoyed boating on Table Rock Lake, and along with wife Judy (HHS '64), enjoyed preparing special meals for large family gatherings in their home (the lovely house he built in southeast Springfield). Don will be remembered for his dedication to HHS's Market On The Hill, for his sharp wit and wry humor, as well as for his love of family. . . and of J.R. the cat. (At least that's what J.R. said.)
