About	Daniel Joseph Spellman, 64, passed away peacefully on November 9, at home in his native city of Springfield, MO. His journey ended after a year long diagnosis of ALS. He was born in Springfield, MO on August 3, 1947. Dan graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Civil Engineering and moved to St. Louis to work for the Army Corps of Engineers. He later graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Public Administration. His career of 33 years started in St. Louis and continued in Cincinnati, OH, where he retired in 2002. Dan met his wife, Linda, while working in St. Louis. They were married on March 7, 1970. They moved to Cincinnati in 1974 and lived there until 2004 when they retired to Cocoa Beach, FL. Dan started collecting coins as a child and enjoyed this hobby until recent years. He was very active and held offices in many organizations including SAR and Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War in both Florida and Ohio. He was an active member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach. He enjoyed model railroading and raising killifish. His greatest passions were his family and genealogy. He loved making booklets including photos and family history for the Spellman reunions. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Wilbur Spellman. Dan is survived by his wife Linda of Cocoa Beach; daughter and grandson, Valerie and Joshua Stotridge of Cincinnati; son Timothy and his wife Lori of Cincinnati; brothers James (Ann) and Max (Dortha) of Springfield; six nieces and nephews and their families, and many cousins. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. and services will begin at 3 p.m. There will be no graveside services. Rev. Pat Findley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the national ALS Association or any state chapter. Online condolences may be made at www.klingner-whitechapel.com.
