About	HILLCREST GRAD DIES IN SERVICE: Word was received here Friday of the death of Ronald Wyane Rook, 19, of 3558 North Fremont, while service on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt in the Mediterranean. Young Rook was a 1970 graduate of Hillcrest High School and entered service May, 1970. His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sandra Rook [Perusse], of the home; his mothr, Mrs. Marjorie Rook, of 2323 North Farmer, two brothers, Mike and Bobby, of 2323 North Farmer, one sister, Connie Ness, of 2323 North Farmer, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Euro Rook, of Walnut Grove, and his maternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Walter Owen, of Walnut Grove. Rook / Victim on Carrier: Ronald Wayne Rook, 19, of 3358 North Fremont, was killed Friday in an accident on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Members of the family were notified that E-3 AN Rook was killed while inspecting an airplane and the exhaust accidentally ignited. The ship is on a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. A graduate of Hillcrest High School in 1970, young Rook played on the high school varsity basketball team. He was employed by Dryer-Williams Shoe Store for three years, and Barker Shoe Store as a clerk for a year, during his high school years and prior to entering service. He was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church north of Walnut Grove. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 3558 North Fremont, his mother, Mrs. Marjorie Rook of 2323 North Farmer, two brothers, Mike and Bobby, both of 2323 North Farmer; one sister, Connie Ness of 2323 North Farmer; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eura Rook, Walnut Grove, and his maternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Walter Owen, Walnut Grove.
