About	Don Virshel Joy, 45, Springfield, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Regional Health Center after a long illness. On May 3, 1943, in Bell, Calif., he was born to Raymond Virshel and Eva Burks Joy. A retired heavy equipment operator from the Ash Grove Cement Company, he was a member of Webster Park Baptist Church. On Aug. 11, 1972, in Springfield he was united in marriage to Margaret Carr, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Michelle and Kathy Joy, both of Springfield; his mother, Eva Joy, Springfield,; two brothers, Leon, Springfield, and Gary, Strafford; three sisters, Kay Vaughn, Arkansas, Linda Gwinn, St. Charles, and Betty Schulte, O’Fallon; aunts, uncles and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Rev. Harley Lawson officiating. Burial will be in White Oak cemetery, near Rogersville.
