About	Larry W. Hughes, age 70, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Cox Medical Center South. He was born February 2, 1941, in Springfield, MO, to Arlie and Marcia (Hough) Hughes. He was in the first graduating class of Hillcrest High School. Larry was united in marriage to Verna Ellsworth on November 14, 1959 in Springfield. Larry worked for Dayco for 42 years, retiring in 2001, as Manager of Customer Service. He enjoyed softball, golf, and fishing, was a season ticket holder for the Springfield Cardinals. Larry loved to bowl, bowling two 300 games over his forty years of bowling. Larry’s greatest love and passion was for his kids and grandkids. Larry is survived by his wife Verna L. Hughes of the home, four children Larry Hughes Jr. and wife Kim of Nixa, Susan Hughes of Mt. Vernon, Sheryl Ingalls and husband Brian of Mountain View, Sandy Conn and husband Ron of Waukee IA, nine grandchildren Brad Hughes, Wes Hughes, Cody Hughes, Dustin and Jordan Foster, Derek, Shelby, and Daniel Ingalls, Stacia Fasano , one sister Jackie Reynolds and husband Bill of Springfield, and one brother Arlie (Skip) Hughes Jr. and wife Joyce of Clyde, North Carolina, and a host of family and friends. His parents Arlie W. and Marcia Hughes and one brother Freddie Joe Hughes preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield with Dr. Vaughn Weatherford officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
