About Jimmy R. Webb, 62, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at his residence. Jimmy R. Webb was born October 23, 1948, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Ronald E. and Pearl Evelyn Dowden Webb. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ronna Jo Webb. Jimmy was educated in the Springfield public schools and had two bachelors degree's and a master's degree from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State). He was married to Jeannie Martin on August 6, 1983, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City with Dr. Monte Thomas Starkes officiating. She survives at the home in Jefferson City. He is also survived by one daughter, Heather A. Andrews and husband David and three grandchildren, Maddeline, Mitchell and Oliver Andrews all of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Jimmy was a lifelong Democrat, a member of Russellville United Methodist Church, a member of Mid-Missouri Peaceworks, a scholar, an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and the University of Missouri Women's basketball program, an advocate for animals and for justice. He had been employed as a teacher at Nichols Career Center in the 1970s and 1980s, Paul's Books in University City, Missouri, and as a computer information specialist for the Department of Natural Resources from which he retired in 2010. He cherished his three dachshunds, Huggie, Marley and Eddie. Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Wagganer Burton and the Rev. Thomas Vansant officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City. Memorials are suggested to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, 1616 East 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108.
