About	Gary Lee Compton, age 64, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. He was born January 10, 1947, the son of Richard Lee and Eva Jewel (Thornton) Compton. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his mother, Eva Jewel Compton; three children, Aaron Compton, James Compton, and Tracy Oakes and husband Chris; three sisters, Joetta Jones and husband Bill, Kathy Young, and Loretta Compton, all,of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and a sister, Mary Compton. Following cremation, burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. [Spfd News Leader dated January 30, 2011]
