William Ellis "Butch" Carter, 49, Springfield, Mo., owner of Street Dreams Custom Cars, died at 9:44 p.m. Monday, April 27, 1998, in Cox Medical Center South. He is survived by his beloved wife and companion of 32 years, Karen S. Carter; a son, Lance W. Carter and his wife, Gina; a daughter, Tonya E. Carter and her companion, Michelle Newman, state of Texas; his grandson, the love of his life, William Tyler Carter; his father, Melvin Jones, Springfield; a sister and her husband, Judy and Bill Richardson, Springfield; two brothers and their wives, Rick and Trish Carter, and Ralph and Beverly Carter,; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; a close friend, Joe Carter and his family; and numbers other close friends and relatives. It was Butch's desire that several of his major organs be donated to Mid-America Transplant. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 1998, in National Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Jeffreys officiating. The body will be cremated under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Missouri, or The Kitchen. [Spfd News Leader ; SSDI]
