Michael E. Drake, 49, Springfield, Mo., died at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 3, 1997 in Balanced Care Springfield East. He was born Aug. 28, 1947, to Wes Franklin and Lelia Drake in Springfield, Mo. He was a Hillcrest High School graduate, a U.S. Navy veteran, and spent most of his life engaged in the professional sheetrock finishing business. Recently Mike made a profession of faith and is now safe in the arms of the Lord. He is survived by his mother, Lelia Drake; two brothers, Bob and Paul, both of Springfield; two sons, Corey and his wife, Stephanie Drake, Rogersville, Mo., and Sean Drake, Nixa Mo.; a step-daughter, Sherri Cerutti; and a beloved granddaughter, Alexa Drake, Rogersville, Mo. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. [Spfd News Leader dated August 6, 1997; SSDI]
