About	Richard B. Smith, 63, died June 12 in Dallas, Texas, after a heroic battle for life. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Merlin and Dorothy Smith; and is survived by his brother, Terry and wife, Marilyn, of Fair Grove; and sisters, Rue Withers and husband, Tom, of Springfield, and Toni Wofford and husband, Mark, of Willard. He leaves behind special friends, Dorothy and Charles Stiffler of Garland, Texas, who treated him like family. He will be remembered by those to whom he gave much and asked nothing in return. A graveside services is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, in Greenlawn Cemetery. [Spfd News Leader dated July 7, 2006; SSDI]
