Glenn Marvin Simmons, 59 years old, of Brookline, Missouri, died at home on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. He was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on May 28, 1949. He is survived by his 21 year-old son, Matthew Glenn Simmons, of the home, and his wife of 35 years, Linda A. (Owen) Simmons. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Marie Simmons; his two favorite aunts, Glenna Pickle and her husband Lee, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Nadine Jones of Russellville, Arkansas; his cousin Kathleen Corns of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who is considered his adopted sister; and he also has three brothers, Kurt Simmons of Brighton, Missouri, Mark Simmons of Wyoming, and Nathan Simmons of Springfield, Missouri; Glenn' s son from a previous marriage, Eddie Simmons, and grandson Joshua of Strafford, Missouri. He is also survived by his cousins, Jason and Katrina Riddle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, along with their children, and cousins Mary and Don Hust of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and many other cousins in Springfield, Missouri, Russellville, Arkansas, and in Oklahoma. His father, Edgar Marvin Simmons, preceded Glenn in death. Glenn served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and worked at Lubbock General Hospital in Lubbock, Texas for many years, and then worked his remaining work years at Microbotics in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Visitation will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home.
