About	Republic: - Robert Dean Allen 50, Republic, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998. The son of Russell and Margaret Allen, he was born March 11, 1947, in Springfield. He was a Burlington Northern Railway Conductor, a Vietnam Army veteran, ember of National Heights Baptist Church, American Legion Post #639, and Billings VFW Post #5686. He is survived by his wife, Marsha L. Allen; three sons, Rob Allen, Tennessee, Marshall G., and Cy Allen of the home; his parents, Russell and Margaret Allen, Springfield; a nd a sister, Carole Moore, Fair Grove. Funeral services will be a 3 p.m. Saturday in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with the Rev. Jim Jeffries and Barbara Materson officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery witih military rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Bob was a dedicated railroad worker and will be greatly missed by his coo-workers, relatives, and friends. [Spfd News Leader dated January 09. 1998; SSDI] Christian County - MAN FOUND DEAD IN BRUSH PILE SHOT HIMSELF The Christian County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a Republic man whose body was found in a brush pile Wednesday. Robert D. Allen, 50, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after his car was swept partially off a road by high water in northwest Christian County. Allen was apparently driving over a low water crossing, said Sgt. Steve Blunt of the sheriff's department. After Allen's car was swept partially off the road, he got out of his car, and shot himself, Blunt said. Allen's body was found 300 yards downstream in a brush pile.
