About	Heaton Newell Haynes, 92, of Blue Springs, MO, died Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs. He was born January 25, 1910 in Olean, MO, the son of Arthur James and Cassie Newell Haynes. He was a Southern Baptist by faith and a mason. He graduated from Missouri University at Columbia in 1936. In the early years he worked for the family business (Haynes Merchantile Company in Olean, MO). He had also taught school in Olean, MO. The family then moved to Springfield, MO in 1955 where they lived for 40 years. He taught school at Pipkin Junior High School and Hillcrest High School, retiring from teaching in 1973. He was also a World War II Army veteran and member of the Retired Officers Association. He retired from the Army reserve in 1970 as a major. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ava Haynes on May 18, 1998, and a brother, Gerald Haynes of Excelsior Springs, MO. Services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 10a.m. at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO. Survivors include two sons, Frank Haynes of Blue Springs, MO, and James "Jim" Haynes of East Helena, MT; a brother Max Haynes of Lampasas, TX: five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
