About	Darnella Jo Abrams, age 42, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, following a difficult and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving daughter, caring sister, and dedicated mother. She was born February 11, 1967, in Rockford, Illinois. Darnella graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1985, and since then had worked for St. John's in medical billing. She will be missed by her many friends there. Darnella leaves behind three wonderful children, Arianna Abrams-Radford, Colton Abrams-Radford, and Carlos Abrams. Darnella was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe W. Abrams and Ellen Vernium and her husband, Ralph Vernium; and her grandfather, Elmer Nelson. She is survived by her grandmother, Lotha Jenkins; her parents, Joe and Sue Abrams of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Treva Smith and her husband, Gary Smith of Adrian, Mo., and Fairelyn Bayless and her husband, Mike of Springfield, Mo.; and one brother, Joe Abrams of Adrian, Mo. She is also survived by two nephews, Greg Smith and wife, Shauna of Drexel, Mo., and Tyler Smith of Adrian, Mo.; two nieces, Rebecca Smith of Adrian, Mo., and Jordan Bayless of Springfield, Mo.; and one great-niece, Anna Marie of Drexel, Mo. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Rev. Frank Stark officiating. Burial will follow in Brighton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. The family would like to thank St. John's employees, St. John's Hospice, and the employees of Magnolia Square for all their caring, love and support through this difficult time.
